Christian's Character
Bale plays both Jack, a protest singer, and Pastor John, the evangelical minister Jack turns into. Haynes studied photos of the Vineyard Fellowship, where Dylan had his 1979 conversion to Christianity, for the scene where Bale preaches and sings "Pressing On" (with vocals by John Doe).
